Homebound Books-By-Mail is a free service to people living within Sacramento County (except the City of Folsom) who are physically unable to travel to a local library facility or bookmobile because of physical, mental, or geographical limitations. Customers are provided with materials chosen to meet their special needs and interests.
General information about the service:
- Applications are reviewed promptly, usually within a week to 10 days of receipt. (NOTE: due to high demand, there may be a waiting period to start the service.)
- The service delivers books and other materials directly to you via United States Postal Service.
- Materials may be kept for up to 30 days.
- Materials may be renewed three times either online, by phone or through contacting HBBM
- Unreturned materials may result in suspension of service.
- All information on the application and in records is confidential.
- In order to assure applicants do not receive repeat titles, a list of materials sent is kept.
- A list of author preferences is maintained.
To help make the Books-by-Mail program work for you, please...
- When returning books, reverse the address card (the card is already addressed and stamped for return mail).
