Adult Program
Joey Castañeda of the Sacramento Opera will strip opera of its aura of elitism and explain how to make a night at the opera as easy to enjoy as an episode of CSI or Top Chef. Castañeda will discuss the history of opera through the ages, types of opera (comedy/dramatic), opera voices and how they relate to character types, the influence opera has on modern music and how opera has made its way into pop culture. Stirring commentary and discussion of the Sacramento Opera's upcoming current production of Verdi's La Traviata is also included. At the program, enter the drawing to win a pair of opera tickets.
