Sacramento writers come together for the Local Author Fair

Novelist Reyna Grande announced as keynote speaker for August 27 event
Connect with Sacramento area authors at the third annual Local Author Fair. This year’s event will feature more than 40 recently published authors with roots in the Sacramento region, along with printing demonstrations on the Library's I Street Press.
August 27, Sunday, Noon – 3 p.m.
  • Noon – 1 p.m. – Keynote presentation with Reyna Grande (East Meeting Room)
  • 1 – 3 p.m. – Author Fair opens to public (Galleria)
  • 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. — I Street Press demonstration


Keynote Speaker Reyna Grande will be speaking about her book The Distance Between Us, an eye-opening memoir about life before and after illegally immigrating to the United States from Mexico.

Reyna Grande is an award-winning novelist and memoirist. She has received an American Book Award, the El Premio Aztlán Literary Award, and the International Latino Book Award. In 2012, she was a finalist for the prestigious National Book Critics Circle Awards, and in 2015 she was honored with a Luis Leal Award for Distinction in Chicano/Latino Literature. Her works have been published internationally in Norway, South Korea, and Mexico.
