Sacramento Public Library

Library's free lunch program returns for another summer

Program runs from June 12 to August 3 for kids 18 and younger
Sacramento Public Library’s annual Lunch @ the Library returns this summer to provide children and teens with healthy lunches.
Lunch at the Library is served at 13 locations from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays from Tuesday, June 12 to Friday, August 3. Lunch will also be served from 1-2:30 p.m. on Mondays at Martin Luther King, Jr. and Valley Hi-North Laguna libraries. No application or income verification is needed for children to receive the meals.
By providing healthy lunches at the Library, children are not only physically energized to learn and grow, but mentally engaged with the Library’s books and computers to keep them learning throughout summer.
Lunch @ the Library is held from from 1-2:30 p.m. at the following locations from Tuesday, June 12 to Friday, August 3:

Monday through Friday
Martin Luther King, Jr. Library Valley Hi-North Laguna Library

Tuesday through Friday
Arcade Library Colonial Heights Library
Del Paso Heights Library Fair Oaks Library
North Highlands-Antelope Library North Sacramento-Hagginwood Library
Rancho Cordova Library Rio Linda Library
South Natomas Library Southgate Library
Sylvan Oaks Library

The program began in 2013 with lunch at only one location. This summer, the Library anticipates that 12,000 meals will be served at 13 libraries. Last summer, more than 80 Lunch @ the Library volunteers served nearly 11,000 meals to Sacramento-area children.
