Meet Carolyn, Youth Services Librarian

Carolyn embraced the Reading is Delicious! program in a big way at the Rancho Cordova Library, which achieved the highest participation of all our locations.
So far, the Rancho Cordova Library is number one in summer reading for all three categories with 3,275 sign-ups, 1,482 finishers and 13,978 books read as of Aug. 28. As you will see, Carolyn brings a love of books, children and summer fun to her work.

What was your favorite 2013 Summer Reading program activity?
Cheetos and whipped cream!  I had a performer cancel at the last minute so I had to throw something together.  Thanks to the staff at the Rancho Cordova Library, we had kids wearing shower caps with whipped cream on top and they threw Cheetos at each other’s heads to make them stick to the whipped cream.  It was crazy, messy, and the kids had a blast – mission accomplished!
Do you have any pets?
My husband and I have two very large St. Bernard dogs named Bruno and Brunette.  Whenever we take them out, kids constantly point and scream ‘It’s Beethoven!’
What’s on your nightstand right now?
Teen dystopia!  I am currently reading the last book in The Giver series.  I love The Hunger Games series.  I can't wait for the next book in the Legend series and Divergent is at the top of my to-read list on Goodreads.
