The Alphabet Rockers at Central Library

Where beats and beets meet and you move your feet on I Street!
If you’re a parent, there’s a good chance you’ve played that game where you sneak veggies into meals so that your broccoli-phobic offspring don’t even know it’s there (hint: you can hide a lot of shredded carrots in spaghetti sauce).

Now imagine the musical equivalent. On Sunday, August 25, our special guests will be The Alphabet Rockers! Join us for "Eat the Rainbow.” The lively trio mixes fun with food in their hip-hop show all about nutrition. Kids can dance along to the tasty beats and sing with the catchy melodies—but they’ll also be taking in positive messages about health and food.

The group combines the “nostalgic beats” of the hip-hop that many of today’s parents grew up listening to with interactive performances and activities aimed at getting kids involved. Besides the music, performers Kaitlin, Tommy and Stefanie bring in arts & crafts, writing & history, and fitness & dancing.

This show is part of our Family Sundays at Central series. These family-friendly shows are designed to entertain kids and adults with music and activities, while teaching valuable lessons and touring diverse cultures from around the world.

Shows are always at the Central Library and take place on a Sunday between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
