The event will give fans of the series a chance to hear a presentation from the author and ask questions on the fourth day of her book tour. The eighth Outlander novel, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, will be released on June 10.
The Sacramento Public Library is still determining some of the details of this event and will update the website with registration information closer to the date.
The series crosses numerous continents and time periods, combining elements of romance, science fiction and historical fantasy. Multiple Outlander books have made the New York Times Bestseller list, winning Gabaldon numerous awards in the process. They have been translated into 23 languages, with over 20 million copies in print. A television series based on the series will debut on STARZ this fall.
The Sacramento Public Library hosted How Outlandish!, a successful series of a dozen public events based on the Outlander series that ran from June to November of 2013. It included lectures on Scottish history, weapons and music, as well as sailing and time travel, ending in an event centered around Irish whiskey.
