On January 15, library systems around the country will begin offering Mango Connect, the latest portal from the premier maker of software for learning world languages.
Though by then, Sacramento Public Library patrons might be ordering in French from a Paris café. SPL was one of a select group of library systems chosen to receive access to Mango Connect
a month early.
Mango Connect users will have access to useful features like:
A one-stop portal. Mango Connect will track your progress, show you all the resources available for the language you’re studying and suggest the next steps you need to become fluent.
Mango Conversations. Use real-life situations and actual conversations to more effectively learn a new language. You'll not only learn the individual words and phrases, but also the context of how they are used in practical situations and conversations.
Placement tests. Want to test your fluency before buying a ticket or checking out a foreign language book? Mango offers short quizzes for 17 different languages, and will let you know what lessons you can skip…and what ones you really need.
Mango will continue to offer the same great features as before. These include foreign language films you can pause and interact with to learn vocabulary, culture and more. Or download the mobile apps for iOS
. Mango offers instruction in more than 50 languages, and is continually adding new languages and features.
