It’s been an amazing summer for reading! Sacramento Public Library
is pleased to announce that participants in the Reading is so Delicious! Summer Reading Program have read an astounding 50,000 books since the program begin June 1, putting us halfway to our goal of 100,000 books.
Interest in the program has soared as well, with sign-ups numbering more than 26,000 as of July 11, well exceeding last year’s total of 25,493.
If you would like to participate in the program, you can sign up here
or in person at any of our 28 library locations
In addition, Sacramento Public Library is hosting more than 1,500 free events
through Aug. 31. Many of these are food-themed, teaching about healthy eating, local food, gardening, cooking, and more.
And while you are at the library, why not help Sacramento Food Bank
and California Emergency Foodlink
by donating unopened, non-perishable food. Because hunger doesn’t take a vacation. Just look for the blue bins or ask library staff for more information.
