Sacramento Public Library

Disney day at Rancho Cordova branch

New mural decorates community room of our top Summer Reading Library.
On October 2, the Rancho Cordova branch of Sacramento Public Library received a mural for their community room, thanks to our friends at Radio Disney. This was the culmination of a partnership between the library, Radio Disney and Mercedes Benz.

The mural was painted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Disney VoluntEars, a community service volunteer initiative by Disney and their employees, and was painted by employees of all three agencies and their families. We celebrated with a story time for small children, with several guests from Radio Disney!

Radio Disney and Mercedes Benz provided additional Summer Reading prizes (three $20 Barnes and Noble gift cards for each of our 28 library locations) as part of their “Road to Reading” campaign. The Rancho Cordova Library had the most signups, finishers and books read in the 2013 Summer Reading program “Reading is So Delicious!”—so it’s appropriate that they have this artwork to liven their community room for years to come.

Special thanks to Radio Disney and Mercedes Benz of Sacramento, Mercedes Benz of El Dorado Hills, and Mercedes Benz of Rocklin for their support.
