Between February 1 and March 14, the Sacramento Public Library is conducting an “I Love My Library” fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to buy new materials for our patrons.
What does your money buy for yourself and your fellow patrons? We’re glad you asked:
$10 buys a new eBook. Our eBook checkouts grew 67 percent between 2012 and 2013!
$25 buys a new hardcover book for our permanent collection.
$50 buys three new children’s books that will be read hundreds of times.
$100 buys a new hardcover book, a new eBook, a new audiobook and a magazine subscription.
In addition to a thank-you letter acknowledging their donation, all donors will receive an exclusive “I Love My Library” badge graphic they may post on Facebook or Twitter. Not to mention some great new books you can check out from your local library.
From February 11-28, we’ll also be giving away donated copies of The Bridge at Valentine
, by Renee Thompson, a remarkable retelling of the Romeo and Juliet story set in the 1890s. "The Bridge at Valentine
is very original and very appealing,” said Pulitzer Prize winner Larry McMurtry.
