We Speak Library - Communication Device

Patrons who are non-verbal or less-verbal can communicate with Library staff using our We Speak Library communication tablets. Picture symbols are used to help adults and children request library materials, find their way around the Library and more.

Introduce your family to an individual Library branch through photos so they will know what to expect on their first visit.

Sensory Storytime

Join our special monthly storytimes for kids with autism and/or sensory disorders featuring books, music, fidget toys, crafts and more. There will be lots of time for parents to network with others, and siblings are welcome. Noise and/or behaviors are never a problem at the Library.

Autism-Friendly Family Movie

Enjoy our monthly family movie events for kids with autism and/or sensory disorders. Toddlers and preschoolers without autism are welcome too. Lights will be slightly up, the sound will be slightly down, and kids don't need to remain seated while enjoying the movie.

Youth-Focused Community Conversations

Do you have aspirations and dreams for youth in your community? Do you have a child with special needs? Join one of our community conversations where we are discussing our aspirations for your community, the concerns you have and what you believe might make a difference in strengthening the community.

Library Insiders - for adults with special needs

Library Insiders offers adults and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and spectrum disorders an opportunity to become familiar with library resources and facilities, and to feel comfortable using the Library and interacting with staff.
