Find heirloom seeds in our seed libraries

Grow a variety of ornamentals, herbs, and edible plants from seeds at Colonial Heights, Galt and Rio Linda libraries
Visit the Colonial Heights, Galt-Marian O. Lawrence or Rio Linda libraries to check out seeds this fall and be on your way to a beautiful garden.

A seed library is a collection of seeds that are available free of charge to all members of the community. Seed-savers are asked to bring some of theirs to these locations' Seed Libraries. With enough heirloom seed donations from our region, there will ultimately be a seed library containing plants ideally suited for Sacramento weather.

Growing your own food is easy and doesn’t require much space. Heirloom seeds can be used generation after generation to grow healthy plants that are not genetically modified. Saving seeds can also help you save money, improve your health, and reduce your carbon footprint by growing nutritious, healthy foods at home.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the seed library, free of charge.
