Volunteer Form

I understand that the Sacramento Public Library reserves the right to screen volunteers and may not accept a volunteer. I understand that I have an obligation to maintain confidentiality. I understand that my volunteer work is a commitment and when I cannot work on the assigned date and time, I will notify the library as soon as possible. I understand that I will not be paid for my services as a volunteer and that I am giving my time freely to the library. Positions and hours are subject to availability. Information on this form will be used for library purposes only.

Unpaid volunteers for public agencies are excluded from the definition of “employees” for workers’ compensation purposes under California Labor Code Section 3352(i). For all assignments, volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from the location of service.
