How are books printed with I Street Press distributed?
The I Street Press has an agreement with
On Demand Books to upload titles to their database for worldwide distribution. Books added to the ODB database need an ISBN, a barcode and a Suggested Retail Price which will cover the cost of the remote sites (EBM locations other than Sacramento). This is part of the Tier Three set-up fee, or can be paid for al a Carte.
Can anyone buy my book directly from I Street Press?
Unless the title is added to the On Demand Books database for worldwide distribution the I Street Press cannot print and sell books locally. Only the owner of the title has the right to print books with the I Street Press.
Are books printed with I Street Press placed in the Library's collection?
Those who purchase a Tier three package may have their book cataloged and placed in the collection of the Sacramento Public Library. Those who have purchased a Tier One or Two package may donate a copy of their book to the Library and it will be placed in the collection.
The decision to place a book in the library collection is left completely up to the author. Staff will never automatically add a book to the library collection.
