Books to Buy

I Street Press links to the On Demand Books database at Ondemandbooks.com and will print any title you request from their database. There are almost 7 million titles available from Google Books, Random House, Oxford University Press, Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Penguin, Lightning Source and many other publishers. Also included in the database are many self-published titles from I Street Press authors.
 
Once you find a title you would like, send an email to istreet@saclibrary.org with detailed information about the book.

 

Please include:

  • Author
  • Title
  • ISBN or the unique identifier for the book. There can be many different editions, and we want make sure we order the book you request.
  • Suggested retail price
  • Desired print-by date
  • Sacramento Public Library branch where the book will be picked up

You will hear back from the I Street Press within 72 hours and receive an invoice from PayPal. Once you have paid the I Street Press will print the book and send it to whichever branch of the Sacramento Public Library you chose.
 
Please note that I Street Press will charge either the suggested retail price (SRP) of the book or the normal per book cost of the I Street Press. If the SRP is less than the recovery cost of materials normally charged by the I Street Press, we will charge our normal book rate. Our normal book charge is $6 per book, plus 3 cents per page.
 
Examples:
  1. A 100-page book may have an SRP of $12.95.  The I Street Press normal book charges are $6, plus 3 cents per page (100 x .03 = $3.00) for a total price of $9. I Street Press will charge the SRP of $12.95.
  2. A 400-page book may have a SRP of $16.95.  The I Street Press normal book charges are $6, plus 3 cents per page (400 x .03 = $12.00) for a total price of $18. I Street Press will charge $18 for the book.
 
All book orders include sales tax.
