    The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

Really good fiction book about a young woman named Katniss Everdeen who goes out to almost certain death instead of her sister.

    The Son of Neptune

The Son of Neptune - Rick Riordan

My personal favorite in the Heroes of Olympus Series, the book is filled with thrills and action from start to finish. It features everyone's favorite demi-god Percy Jackson, this time with him waking up mysteriously with no memory and monsters that won't die. In addition to this, you have two new demi-gods and a whole new camp. It may look bulky, but once you get into it, time flies (plus the font's pretty big). If you haven't read this or the Percy Jackson series, this is a must.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - J. K. Rowling

It's a really good book because it has a good plot and I just kept wanting to read on and on and on. The ending was especially good and when I wanted to read one chapter, I ended up reading the whole rest of the book! It's full of action, bravery, terror (not horror) and much more. This was a REALLY REALLY GOOD book.

    Fahrenheit 451

    Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

A sci-fi classic about a dystopian American city in which books are banned, and Guy Montag burns them. In this dystopian world, people spend time watching TV and driving very fast intead of having meaningful conversations, thinking independently, or enjoying nature. Guy meets Clarisse, a innocent 17-year-old girl who changes his life. After this, he goes through a series of terrifying events, including a woman who would rather burn with her books than part with them. A truly great and historic science-fiction book that is unlike any that came before, and set the bar for dystopian sci-fi. A must read.
