The Friends of the Sacramento Public Library enthusiastically support the public library in the city and county of Sacramento. If you, too, are grateful for public libraries and would like to help ensure their continued existence and growth, please join us.
As a Friend, you will help to
- raise funds for books & materials
- support children's programs
- plan and staff the Friends system book sales
- plan and staff the Focus on Writers Program, fund book discussion groups, lobby public officials on behalf of libraries, support the Literacy Program, support your own branch library
- and, much, much more!
As a Friend, you will receive
- discounts at the Friends Book Den, and system Friends events
- early entry to the System Friends quarterly sales
- the bi-monthly Friends newsletter, which lists System and Branch Friends book sales
- membership in your local branch library Friends (in addition to your membership in the System Friends)
- and the satisfaction of helping to support our local libraries
Print and fill out an application and mail it to: Friends of the Sacramento Public Library, Department HP, 828 I Street, Third Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. (Applications are also available at all the Sacramento Public Libraries or call the Friends office at 916-264-2880 and have one mailed to you.)
Note: One-half of your membership dues goes to the branch library you designate on your membership application and you automatically become a member of the Friends of the Library for that branch.
If you want to do more,
- Gift memberships, donations and memorials are always welcome. All such funds go directly to library activities and materials.
- Gifts to the Endowment Fund will be used to purchase books and other materials needed by the library.
