American Association of University Women; available to women age 25 or older pursuing a first baccalaureate degree, attending American River College, Cosumnes River College, Sacramento City College, or CSU- Sacramento.  For an application and complete information, please contact Catherine Locke at clocke@sacbee.com.

California State Pipe Trades Council Scholarship Program; Deadline 3/31/08 (postmarked); applicant must be son or daughter of a current member of Pipe Trades Local Unions affiliated with the CA State Pipe Trades Council; must have at least a 2.5 GPA; 32 scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded. For full information and application, go to www.calpipes.org/ScholarshipProgram.asp.

CLA Scholarship for Minority Students in Memory of Edna Yelland; Deadline 5/31/08 (received); applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a master’s program in an ALA accredited CA library school; be a member of an ethnic minority group; be a CA resident and a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident; 3 awards of $2500 each.  Application and instructions at www.cla-net.org/awards/ednayelland.php.

SALEF Fulfilling Our Dreams Scholarship Fund; Deadline 6/30/08 (postmarked); applicants must be of  Central American or other Latino ethnicity; must possess a minimum 2.5 GPA; heavy emphasis on community involvement; must reside and study in California or cities of Houston, TX or Washington, D.C.; various scholarships and awards ranging from $500 to $2500.  Visit www.salef.org for more information and application.

William E. Dochterman Medical Student Scholarship; Deadline 7/1/08 (received); applicant must have graduated from a high school in El Dorado, Sacramento, or Yolo counties; must be enrolled in an accredited American medical school on a full-time basis; award varies.  For more information and an application, go to www.ssvms.org/scholar.asp.
