Teacher Card Application

Apply for a Teacher Card to borrow Sacramento Public Library books, audiobooks, and ebooks.

Pick up your card in person from your nearest branch within 14 days of applying.

To claim your Teacher Card, please bring:

  • Photo ID
  • One of the following as proof of educator status
    • School or childcare identification
    • School or childcare pay stub
    • Letter on school or childcare letterhead from the school administrator or childcare director
    • Letter of acknowledgement of homeschooling from the local School District
    • Childcare Certification

  • All library cardholders are granted user confidentiality under the California Public Records Act (Government Code 6267) which prohibits the release of circulation records of library users.
  • I accept responsibility for the selections I make for myself and selections made by my children.
  • I agree to obey the rules and regulations of the Sacramento Public Library and to be responsible for all materials borrowed and for all charges incurred for lost or damaged materials borrowed with this card, and know the Library may use a collection agency to ensure the return of materials and the payment of fines and fees.
  • Most materials check out for 42 days. If a second overdue notice is received for any item, circulation privileges will be suspended until the item is returned.
