Mobile services brings the library to families and seniors

New safety procedures in place including face-coverings and social distancing
August 11, 2020
The Library’s Mobile Services staff are continuing their routes to reach families and seniors across our region with new safety procedures in place including face coverings and social distancing. Instead of entering the bookmobile, patrons are invited to browse materials by sight at our pop-up mobile libraries. Patrons along the Mobile Services routes may also pick up their holds and drop off their returns at scheduled stops. Staff are also available to offer reading recommendations or answer library-related questions.

Our mobile units provide opportunities to team up with other community organizations to meet the needs of our patrons. Recently, Mobile Services staff partnered with La Familia Counseling Center to encourage patrons in the community to complete the census.

Look for the bookmobile and our mobile library Vincent Van Go (aka Vinny) in a neighborhood near you! Throughout the school year Vinny will be visiting neighborhoods in the afternoon to accommodate students who are distance learning.
