Virtual workshops support educators during distance learning

Series spotlights diverse e-books, STEM resources, middle school and high school resources and more

Library staff presented a series of virtual workshops designed to support educators, students, and families during this time of distance learning.

Workshop.jpgTopics included library cards and class visits, diverse e-books, learning to read, STEM resources, middle school and high school resources and more. Each 30-minute Zoom session briefly highlighted one topic and included an in-depth Q&A with participants. The workshops were designed to provide teachers with a forum to express their needs and identify ways the library can help.

A total of 85 educators from multiple school districts attended one or more sessions, and the videos have been viewed more than 200 times. Recordings of the workshops are available on demand on library’s YouTube channel.

Educators’ response to the series has been overwhelmingly positive. As one participant said, “I have done A LOT of Zoom classes this summer and these sac public library ones have easily been some of the best. You all are doing a fabulous job!”
