Featured Title
Falling by TJ Newman (coming July 6, 2021)
You’ve just boarded your flight and everything seems normal. What you don’t know is that the pilot has just received a message. His family has been taken hostage and will be killed unless he crashes the plane. Enjoy the flight! Written by a flight attendant who adds the details that make this outlandish premise all too real, this is thriller reading at its most intense. If you enjoy a good chilling and fast-paced read you’ll definitely want to put this right at the top of your summer reading list. Maybe don’t read it on the plane, though.

New and Upcoming Adult Books
No matter what you enjoy reading, there are a variety of new releases perfect for a summer escape. Bath Haus by PJ Vernon is a queer thriller about a young man haunted by an indiscretion that may do more than ruin his marriage—it may ruin his life. For something a little less modern, check out The Personal Librarian, a novel that tells the little known story of Bella da Costa Greene, JP Morgan’s personal librarian in early 20th Century New York. Finally, check out Razorblade Tears, the next thrilling crime novel from the Edgar Award winning S.A.Crosby which involves two fathers on a dangerous quest for revenge.

What We’re Reading
If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha
Narrated by four women living in the same apartment building in the Gangnam district of Seoul, this is an entrancing read that offers a peek into a very particular world of extreme beauty and status consciousness. The women, who each live very different lives, have made tremendous sacrifices for their dreams and the question of whether it was worth it hangs over everything and everyone. At times this can be a grim read, but it’s also one that draws the reader in through the vivid voices of its characters. Their surprising bonds of friendship and support offer a bright light into the darkness behind the glitz.
