Adult Education and Family Literacy Week (AEFL Week) is September 18-24, 2022. Adult literacy can help improve everything from children's literacy, health outcomes, gender equality, and poverty. Every important social issue is impacted by literacy. When individuals strengthen their reading, writing, basic math, and computer/digital literacy skills, they can experience lower health care costs, find and keep sustainable employment, and change their families’ lives.
Sacramento Public Library is committed to supporting lifelong learning at any age and providing equitable access to learning resources and experiences to all in Sacramento County. Everyone needs help from time to time, whether it’s heading back to school or learning English or developing new skills to land the job. We're honored and proud to be able to help support the goals of our community in a variety of ways.
