We accept
check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State. We do not accept cash.
What do I need to bring with me to get a passport?
Check travel.state.gov for an overview of everything you need to do to apply for a passport for yourself and for your family members, as well as the processing times for all passport services.
Do you need an appointment to apply for a passport?
While it is not mandatory to make an appointment, they are strongly recommended. We do not accept walk-in applications on Sunday, and we encourage you to use our booking calendar to make an appointment for quicker processing of your passport application and/or photo service.
Can you apply for a passport at any branch of the Library?
Our passport office is at Central Library in downtown Sacramento, on the second floor of the Library.
