Join us for storytimes and programming for young children designed to make learning fun and support caregivers as they help their child learn and grow.

Outdoor Programs

Join us to explore, learn, and play outdoors at select library locations during the month of December! Art and play activities will be offered for young children and their caregivers. You are encouraged to social distance, bring a blanket to sit on and dress for the weather. 

• Colonial Heights Library: December 11 and 18 from 3 - 4 p.m. 
• South Natomas Library: December 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.



Wednesdays @ Winn Storytime
Look for the bookmobile on December 15 at 4:40 p.m. during the Midtown Business Association's Wednesdays @ Winn. Join us for outdoor storytime for families, learn more about library services and pick up fun activities to go for young children.

Play and Rhyme
Join librarians on Facebook Live every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for Play and Rhyme! Sacramento Public Library’s new virtual Play and Rhyme program unites playful elements of storytime with play activities and prompts that encourage families to move, bond, learn, and play!


Sensory Storytime
Watch Sensory Storytime on YouTube, which consists of short, single activity videos that allow you to create your own storytime experience by choosing what type of storytime activity you want to focus on. Select between videos that focus on movement, music, stories and at-home activities. Families with young children or with special needs will enjoy our sensory storytime at your fingertips. 

Song & Rhyme Storytime 
Join Caitlin for silly songs and rhymes. After storytime, enjoy the book “We’re Different, We’re the Same”, written by Bobbi Jane Kates, illustrated by Joe Mathieu and read by Sesame Street’s Gordon Robinson.
