What We’re Reading
The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin
Trey Lyles selected this title to learn more about yourself through unleashing creativity in all aspects of life, not just basketball. Over the years, legendary music producer Rick Rubin has thought deeply about where creativity comes from and where it doesn't, about what it takes to strike a deep nerve within ourselves. Perhaps above all, he has learned that being an artist isn't about your specific output, it's a relationship to the world. Creativity has a space in everyone's life, and everyone has the opportunity to make that space stronger. Indeed, it may be our most important responsibility. Rick Rubin is the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings, founder of American Recordings, and former co-president of Columbia Records.

About Trey Lyles
Trey Lyles is a veteran forward and leader for the Sacramento Kings, originally from Saskatoon, Canada, in his eighth season in the NBA after being selected as the 12th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, following a standout freshman season at the University of Kentucky.
Beyond the court, Trey is a passionate reader, often immersing himself in books during road trips and travel between games. As Sacramento has become his new home, he is thrilled to collaborate with the Sacramento Public Library to start his own book club and engage with the community. Through this initiative, he aims to create a space where fans and fellow book enthusiasts can connect and foster meaningful conversations around some of his favorite books.
