Did you know that college applications require several different types of writing? The UC application includes Personal Insight Questions, the Common Application has longer essays, and many applications also have short answers and descriptions of high school activities. In this workshop, you will learn what colleges are looking for in essays and responses, how to choose topics and how to answer each type of prompt. Tips will also be shared on writing strategies and how to be organized and meet those all-important deadlines. Instructor Marilyn van Löben Sels is a certified college counselor with over 20 years of experience helping students and their families with the college application process. She has been presenting college workshops since the library opened in 2010. Registration is required for this class as space is limited. Visit saclibrary.org or call (916) 264-2920. This program is sponsored by the Pocket-Greenhaven Friends of the Library.
