Attendees at each event will receive a copy of Dr. Brown-Wood's book to keep while supplies last and participate in art activities inspired by the book. Limit one book per family.

JaNay Brown-Wood, PhD, is a former early childhood professor and the author of several books for children, including Imani’s Moon and Grandma’s Tiny House. She enjoys writing and reading, discussing the importance of diversity in children’s literature, presenting about child development and literacy, and spending time with her husband and daughter. Fenix Drum and Dance Company is a family centered performance company specializing in traditional music and dance from West Africa and the Caribbean. Established two decades ago by the mother/daughter team of Angela J, James and Olivia Yasmin. Fenix strives to keep traditional arts alive through performance and education.

Bigger Than Us Arts brings arts education directly to the community and supports positive forms of expression through the promotion of literacy in the arts.
