Sacramento Room

The Sacramento Room - the 'Jewel in the Crown' of Sacramento's Central Library - is an apt setting for the Special Collections of the Sacramento Public Library. Our collections are housed in the original reference room of the 1917 Carnegie-funded City Library, on the second floor of the Central Library, at 828 'I' Street.

Mission
The Sacramento Room is dedicated to promoting an appreciation and understanding of the history of Sacramento by collecting, preserving, and providing access to special collections relating to the diverse history of the area.
