A brothel above a firehouse; local taverns serving fine food, cigars, and mixed cocktails; hot music in Sacramento: all are on tap during a talk about Sacramento region's breweries, brothels, and bars of yesteryear. Join food historian and author Maryellen Burns as she offers tidbits and some delicious tales from Carmichael's and Fair Oaks' drinking story--past and present. She also will prepare non-alcoholic drinks that, during prohibition, could be "jazzed up" when the police were not looking.
